Beauty and Purpose

Yesterday, I stood in awe as thirty-four million gallons of water per minute fell. It’s so powerful, it produces enough electricity to power a small nation. It’s so majestic, people come from all over the world to see it. And as I stood and gazed at its beauty, all I could think was, “What a mighty, creative, awesome Father we have!”

Think about it. The same God that formed Niagra Falls with such inherent beauty yet functionality created you and me. I’m sure at the time of their discovery, no one saw its untapped potential as a power source. No one fathom it would produce enough revenue to sustain a town or provide electricity. But the Falls are God’s workmanship created for good works.

The next time you look into a mirror, remember, you, like The Falls of Niagra, are God’s workmanship created for good works! You were created for a purpose. Like the Falls, you were intelligently designed, creatively formed, intentionally placed. You are both beautiful and functional.

I traveled six hours to view and appreciate the Falls. But it has taken a lifetime to learn to value and appreciate the beauty and the purposes God has placed within me. I pray your revelation of your beauty and worth begins today. I pray that when you look into the mirror, you would stand in awe, as I did when I looked at the Falls. I pray you would see your beauty as you reflect your Heavenly Father. I pray the Holy Spirit will be your tour guide and reveal the many good works God has purposed for you.

Friends, we are no less a masterpiece than the Niagra Falls, the mountains of North Carolina, or a beautiful starry night.  We were created by the same designer and He doesn’t have a discount line.

“We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!” Ephesians 2:10 TPT
